Effort and Surrender

"Surrender and the teaching comes through you." -Stephen Thomas

In yoga practices and learnings after having devoted all effort
one surrenders completely and let go to trust the inner wisdom
to simply surrender and soak in the dedication
in the flow of soft deep energy
allowing the body space to take in the teaching, to remember
let it nurture one inwardly and out
shining beautiful energy, beautiful karma.

Day 1, Ripples of Happiness

How shall i begin...today is one of the most beautiful days in my life
of great openess, appreciation, many many smiles and more
as the day flowed on i grew happy and happier still
finding myself present and whole, being where i am natually meant to be
and i feel such shine and warmth from the inner core of my being
feeling connected to the natural energy that's in and beyond myself
how beautiful it is
this sense of wellbeing
i am rooted to the heart of the earth
to mountains, to trees, to grass, to rivers
to the ocean, to the sky, to the clouds, to the sun, the moon
to the very breath of life, i feel one with truth
that resonates the most wonderous energy with the best intention
and i am so happy to be living
so happy to be on the path of my dharma
such joy, such happiness welling up from the inside
i feel very much loved, simply being here and now
i feel so thankful

Stephen asked us in the morning
to set one's own Sankalpa: intention big and small, for the workshop

my Sankalpa is:
I'd love to learn how to ground
to be intuned and connect with inner wisdom
to root down well in foundation
to find a sense of freedom and clarity in center
learn how to integrate all aspects of yoga in everyday
to be of love and wisdom from the heart
to become a better teacher
knowing how to observe and be compassionate
be of support to assist others in safety and comfort
i want to be a healer
i want to be one pure minded
i love to learn to sing Mantras by heart
i love to get to know and understand yoga anatomy
i want to shine my light from the inside brightly
to take heart i am happy in the center

i am a loving shining spirit

there's such completeness cultivated today that i feel truly blessed
i am so thankful, for the field of energy
wisdom and guidence of the teacher, teacher's teachers
TT mates in walking the path side by side at this time
polishing our individual authenticity together
and as a whole creating a beautiful experience

i feel so fortunate to be learning
being mindful in the awareness that brings to light

Inner dialogue

Reality is reality as one allows it to be and become
whatever quest, challenge or obstacles
to ride the flow til one is able to be through to move on

it's all in the heart
when acting with heart, liberation comes
so often we see it all in the mind, in our ego's interpretation
and it traps one with such limitation and confinement
but that is not how life naturally is to be

how to be awake in the energy that has all the answers
so much more profound than the mind
to be with pure divinity and contentment
every person has one's own pathway
own route to that door

see that mind makes the contraction
let go to trust heart's voice and expansion can happen

as with all existence
we are complete inside, an universe within
a field of energy that resonate delicately
let the mind relax
celebrate with heart
let life unfold naturally
allowing answers to come
listen to the wisdom that's there

blessing, grace, beautiful energy
it has always been there inside and out
how to shed the excess layers in exterior
so we can be open and in touch with the authentic self
being whole and real, being true in clarity

acceptance
choices
trasformations
creation
feeling unconditional love

i am learning
i want to always be true
in living moments with compassion
kindness and understanding

we are all lightness of being
there's no need to resist when it feels so wrong
no need to cling on to attachment of negative emotions
no need to have to please, to placate, to be not true to self

we can learn better to setting good intentions
open heart to respect and forgive
forgiving in ways that one knows things can not be forced
some times it's not a matter of making effort
but a cause and effect in a deeper level, the karmic energy
what do we allow ourselves to bind to or bond with?
do we invite good energy or bad energy
do we allow suffering to root or can we
allow softness in seeing it through

how to be in this world
how to live feeling no shame, no guilt, no supression
simply be with a sense of natural ease and comfort
that is the true essence of our nature

how to let go of expectations
let go of wanting to be in control

control is all mind's talk
it is not language of the heart

when we are of love and stability in the core
everything else evloving on the outside is just a play
a dance contracting and expanding energy
how we are to swirl into chaos or be a smooth current
is all in our own doing of being or not being

be mindful
instill space so there's room to move around
we are not static or concrete
we can create what makes being... Happy

Third River

You are pulsating, vibrating
sound
color
light
there's sun and light inside
may that be bright'

with those words
i also jot down
inner peace
strength
wisdom
courage
light
essence

our theme today was on the third river
and we were to leave ourselves open to the theme
stephen said:
'we live in polarity
polarity of opposites all the time
there are two rivers, one happy, one sad
and in yoga we practice to find the third river

the third river is
deep deep peace
so much more profound than happy
that's no longer opposite

it is the existence within self
a feeling beyond word
beyond mind
beyond form

it can not be said, but be felt
the only way to have it is through experience'

in practice
there's body, mind, and heart in deep focus
being present, observing, dedicating, creating
and there are times that i feel that third river flowing
times when i feel genuine smiles surfacing from with in
as i take serene quality breaths
i think it's such a beautiful thing
to find self and the sense of wellbeing
when one hear the sounds within
the vast universe that exist inside
the warmth, we are flowing water

has one listened to self in the quiet?
how to allow silence into daily living
to reserve time for that inner retreat

that is what i'm experiencing
i like to find ways to be intuned to the palse within
that of life, energy, widom, love

stephen mentioned the word
'equanimity'
that exists within all
all were given that gift at birth
but we often forget that

how there's no need to panic
whatever is happening, it will resolve itself
allowing one to remain in the state of beautiful strong
inner feeling as the world goes crazy around

with each day's practice
before the asanas we'd practice several pranayama
breathing techniques...it's really interesting
fun and mindful when familiar with it
and it brings about amazing energy
up lifting with each round of breaths

wonderous effect in cleansing breaths
and uplifting energy, making prana and apana flow
smooth and long like an inner massage

there's so much in stephen's teaching
im happy to have come in light of such teacher
i do feel the glow as i practice...
feeling so complete and blissful at the end of the
session

淨化練習

決定了今天早上嘗試剛學習的一種淨化練習
於是從昨天傍晚六點後便未再進食 只有喝水
讓身體進入理想的空腹狀態

睡了一覺醒來
胃裡無負擔 感覺舒服自然
精神還不錯 有些好奇 小緊張
總是有第一次
ok的

準備:
一瓶 1500ml的水
一個煮水鍋 更多的水
以及 鹽巴

我要作的是 煮沸開水 然後熱水冷水各半調溫
倒入200ml 馬克杯中 加二三小匙的鹽
然後分幾次喝足 2000ml
之後 將手指放入喉中
讓胃裡的水出來

在開始水療練習之前
我先做了kabhalabhakti: skull shining, cleansing breath technique 的呼吸練習
在鼻子吐氣時 自然的縮腹 持續帶著韻律平穩的作120次 再休息
這是個醒腦的練習 可以將氧氣清新的往上推至頭部

準備好的時候 水也煮開了
我放的熱水比例較多 感覺這樣比較好喝
接著便一杯 一杯接著的喝
每次調一杯喝完再調一杯

這是我頭一回一次喝這麼多的水
一共喝了六杯 多於2000 ml 的溫熱鹽水

第一 二杯順順喝
三四杯則是鼓起精神把它喝了
每一口都是好大一口
邊喝邊感受到漲胃
開始有些噁心 得靠意志力喝
鼓勵自己 這是必經驗的過程
就快喝足了... 好好的喝完它

我意識到
原來喝水也可已變成苦差事呢
一種自我考驗的試煉

連續喝了五杯
感覺到了極限 必須停下來
如實的感覺再多喝一口 就要吐出來了
接著我到了廚房的水槽 站好前彎
做了頭一次嘗試

幾次手指的幫忙後
一柱水便從裡而外的沖出來
好像院子水管澆水般的水柱
同時感受到氣往上升到頭頂
從腹部到頭頂合而一氣的清新上去
那微妙的舒適輕盈感真另人驚喜

水很乾淨潤滑 透明帶點黏液

感覺我作的挺正確的 開心也放心 便持續的繼續作
每次間隔時 我會洗洗臉 漱漱口 深呼吸再繼續
也準備張椅子 想坐下時坐下

重複了幾次 每一次 (忘了數幾次)都是不同的感受
中間我又喝了第六杯

不同次的感受都是奇特的體驗

有間隔時 鼻塞 打噴嚏
也有像小狗吃草後的韻律反芻
一開始 喉嚨裡是無味但溫和
過程中也有感到甘甜的時候
最後覺得有些微的小鹹

邊淨化的時候 偶而會有些疑問
覺得喝不下時還要喝嗎?
吐出來幾次是夠了?

隨之我又會將專注帶回到練習上
有高椅子蠻好的
可以將身体坐正 坐穩
在最舒服的角度前傾練習
也將心胸放寬放輕鬆 延展脊椎 還有側腰

最後兩次出來小小口 我知道差不多了就停下休息
身體輕鬆 頭略昏 整個過程約一個鐘頭

好玩的是
隨後不久便想上去坐在馬桶上
排上排下 感覺是完整的療程

接著我感到睏 躺下來小歇一會兒
放著 Deva Premal mantra 的音樂
真是個寧靜的晴天 Sunday :-)

起來之後 精神好
做了些裡裡外外的家事
再準備簡單的 brunch
發現食物好吃許多呢
有好味覺 好胃口
帶意識的消化感受

平靜經歷一次身心洗滌
